The official dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Renewco-Meadow Branch Landfill Gas Processing Plant was conducted yesterday. The plant consists of 70 wells that collect methane gas from the landfill, purifies it, and then pumps it 9 miles via pipeline where it can be used as traditional fuel. The new plant cost over $12 million to construct and received no taxpayer subsidies.
